I completed my basic medical degree at St Johns National Academy of Health Sciences, Bangalore in India and moved to the UK to do my post graduate training in Pediatrics and General Practice. I worked as a GP in UK for 10 years before moving to NZ in 2015.

My special interests and training are in the fields of child health and women’s health which includes family planning, sexual health and contraception. I also enjoy care of the elderly and the unique medical challenges it brings. My other area of interest is medical education and I am involved in the teaching and training medical students and junior doctors.

As I am from Pondicherry, a small town in south of India, I am fluent in Tamil and Malayalam. I am in the process of learning to speak in Hindi. When not working I like reading books, going for walks and do a bit of cooking,
